Pandemic Planning

Pandemic Planning

"Experts predict another pandemic will occur but cannot say exactly when. Each pandemic is different and, until the virus starts circulating, it is impossible to predict its full effects."
UK Cabinet Office, 2010

The first of the pandemics in recent years was SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome). It lasted from 16th November 2002 to 5th July 2003 and there were 774 fatalities. By contrast the 2009 H1N1 (swine flu) outbreak lasted 15 months and there were roughly 14,300 deaths world wide. The evidence suggests the risks are increasing and for truly resilient organisations appropriate plans are essential.

A key feature of our service is our ability to adapt to changing risk situations and to learn new techniques. We have successfully used our expertise in business continuity planning to help our clients develop and test robust pandemic plans.
